In May of last year, Dr. Duncan suffered a serious fall and injuries that were attributed to sinus pause, in which the heart stops beating long enough to produce unconsciousness. As a result he suspended his involvement with Duncan & Associates, Following three hospitalizations and implantation of a pacemaker, he entered a skilled nursing facility and resigned as President and CEO of Duncan & Associates. The activities of D&A will be continuing under the guidance of D&A's former Vice Presidents, Thomas Nicholson, MPH, PhD and Gregory Ellis-Griffith, PhD, MPH. Dr. Duncan will continue his community service as an unpaid board member at the Bowling Green/Warren County Primary Care Center, Fairview Community Health Center, and the National Association for Public Health Policy. He plans to continue writing.
